Are Honda CRZ reliable?
Is a used Honda CR-Z coupe reliable? Honda has been known to score well in reliability surveys and the CR-Z does nothing to change that. According to our own latest reliability survey, the CR-Z puts in a near-perfect score.
How long does Honda CRZ last?
Honda CRZ’s IMA battery life is very long. In some case, Li-ion battery life is shortened depending on owner’s usage, battery charging habits and weather conditions. In duration test done by Honda, Li-ion battery life is over 15 years.
Why was the Honda CR-Z discontinued?
Honda eventually discontinued the CR-Z in 2016 due to slow sales. Even four years ago, the writing was on the wall for small coupes and hatchbacks as crossover sales soared. We’d love to see the CR-Z return as a hybridized or electric hot hatchback, much like the Honda e that is unavailable in the US.
Does Honda CRZ have timing belt or chain?
Owners don’t have to worry about changing the timing belt, as the CR-Z has a maintenance-free timing chain. However brake fluid needs replacing every three years/37,500 miles, and the coolant replaced at 10 years/125,000 miles (and five years/62,500 miles after that).
How long does a CRZ clutch last?
Similar to brake pads, clutches do not have a recommended replacement mileage. They do wear out, but some will last over 100,000 miles.

If you have a lot of friends or a large family, the CR-Z is not for you. There is no back seat, so there is only room for two. That said, seating for the driver and passenger is comfortable. There’s adequate leg- and headroom, even for taller passengers.

The CR-Z is powered by a 1.5 L (92 cu in) i-VTEC SOHC inline-4 engine, designated as LEA, with Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) hybrid-electric system. A six-speed manual transmission is standard equipment and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) is available.
Are Honda CR-Z rare?
Even though it only went off a few years ago, it’s already a piece of Honda’s history many have forgotten. It probably doesn’t help that few were sold, making the CR-Z a rare sight on the roads – only 4000 are currently licensed in the UK.
