Can you boat on the Peace River?
Bottom: The bottom of the Peace River is mostly sand. Boat Channels: There are no boat channels in this section of the Peace River. If you want to explore the river in a boat, it will have to be by canoe, kayak, or paddleboard.
How do you plan a river canoe trip?

- 1) Leave a float plan with your family, friends, and local authorities.
- 2) Consider a PLB of some sort.
- 3) There is water involved.
- 4) You will have to carry stuff.
- 5) The trails you will be on will be unlike most hiking trails.

Does the Peace River have rapids?
The Peace River is a Class I river which means there are no rapids and as a bonus there are no portages either, at least on the section we paddled.
Why are there sharks teeth in the Peace River?

The valley is incised to depths of from slightly over 210 m (700 ft) to 150 m (500 ft) over the same range. The Peace River is 1200 m (34 mi) wide just north of the town of Peace River and its average width is slightly over 400 m (14 mi).

Is the Peace River brackish?
Fish, such as largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill and catfish are abundant for the fresh water fisherman. The lower part of the river is tidal, bringing saltwater to mix with the fresh as the river flows southward. This mixing creates “brackish” water.
