Metal – A decal should stick to metal, provided that the surface is flat and not textured. As long as the surface is smooth and clean, stick away! Textured Surfaces – Decals have the hardest time sticking to textured surfaces due to the lack of overall surface area for them to adhere to.

What is the difference between stickers and vinyl?

Vinyl is a kind of plastic, so this material does not deteriorate with moisture and is therefore more durable. Another difference these two have is resistance to tearing. One of the most noticeable differences between these two is the fact that vinyl labels or decals do not have a background while paper stickers do.

Wall surfaces can absorb some of the polyurethane and this can actually cause the sticker to start to peel off.

Direct application of pressure-sensitive vinyl graphics to these surfaces often resulted in adhesion failures. The cause of adhesion problems on aluminum is usually oxidation on the surface of the metal. Unless you remove this oxidation, pressure-sensitive films and tapes will not adhere properly.
