The Rhino uses a unique revolver design, similar to the Mateba Autorevolver, another of Ghisoni’s projects. It fires from the bottom chamber of the cylinder instead of from the top cylinder. This allowed the firearm’s bore axis to be inline with part of the pistol grip, in order to mitigate recoil and muzzle flip.

The Chiappa Rhino sort of does both. There’s lots of good (albeit not original) ideas with the gun, but it’s far from perfectly executed. Combine that with the fact that it’s competing in a sphere of guns that’s tradition-oriented, and the Rhino is a tough sell.
